Ivan & I had a fantastic day on the farm yesterday with a visit from Byron Bay Public School students. Two classes of Year 1 children (about 40 of them!) came to enjoy the Farmstay as part of their “Local Places” topic being studied at school. They explored the rainforest, hand-fed the cows, played with the chooks & walked to the Hayters Hill summit while they were here.
Ivan’s Mum, Erica, chatted to the students about what life would have been like when the farm was first by her family in 1881; and how things have changed on the farm since that time. It was lovely to be able to share the farm with a group of such interested and enthusiastic kids!
